John Welsh y Los Valientes comenzaron con la creencia que la música tiene el poder de unir a las personas de todas las culturas,idiomas y edades. Cantando en inglés y español, la banda se compone de músicos canadienses y colombianos tocando una mezcla de música latina, canadiense y reggae. De Vancouver, Canadá, John Welsh & Los Valientes son conocidos por su música vibrante y alegre con diversas influencias de artistas como Manu Chao, Bob Marley y Harry Belafonte. John Welsh, hijo de inmigrantes ingleses en Canadá,  creció en un ambiente multicultural y fué influenciado por música de todas partes del mundo. Después de volver de sus estudios en Guatemala, empezó a tocar para estudiantes internacionales, buscando canciones y ritmos que unieran a personas de diferentes países. Welsh encontró a músicos que compartían su visión, y después de lanzar su primer disco “On The Road”, empezaron a tocar en festivales por Canadá y Estados Unidos. 

    En 2017, se lanzó su álbum “Vámonos Mi Chica", el cual llegó a segundo lugar en la lista de éxitos en iTunes Canadá en la categoría de música étnica. Su popularidad en México aumentó cuando el primer sencillo del álbum, “Me Hace Sentir” empezó a sonar en la radio y el vídeo de su canción "Sayulita” (filmado en el pueblo de surf mexicano) sobrepasó más de un millón de vistas en Facebook.

Recientemente, la banda ha sido nominada “Artista del Año" en los Western Canadian Music Awards (Premios nacionales de música) Con su nueva integrante, la cantante Colombiana-Canadiense Daniela Carmona, la banda ha seguido adelante tocando en distintos festivales y eventos. Actualmente, su sencillo "Sayulita" ha sobrepasado 700k streams en Spotify y la música se escucha en todas partes del mundo con un fuerte apoyo de América Latina. John Welsh & Los Valientes lanzarán nueva música éste año.

John Welsh & Los Valientes began with the belief that music has the power to bring people together regardless of language, age or culture. With a global sound that appeals to a wide audience the band has been compared to artists such as Michael Franti and Manu Chao. Fluent in Spanish from a young age, John Welsh began his career performing at international student parties finding songs and musical styles that would engage people from around the world. After releasing his first EP “On The Road” Welsh and his band began touring throughout western Canada and the US.

For his latest project, John Welsh has recruited a talented group of Canadian and Colombian musicians incorporating instruments such as the accordion and Colombian tiple. Blending upbeat rhythms from latin, reggae and soca music John Welsh & Los Valientes get crowds dancing and singing wherever they perform. A favourite at summer festivals and outdoor events, the band were last year’s nominees for “World Artist of the Year” at the Western Canadian Music Awards.

In 2017 their #FACTORFUNDED album "Vamonos Mi Chica" debuted at #2 on the iTunes Canada World  Charts and was particularly well received in Mexico, producing two radio singles there with “Sayulita” and “Me Hace Sentir”. To date the band’s song “Sayulita” has surpassed 700k streams on Spotify and garnered support from listeners all over Canada, the US and Latin America. With performances from Edmonton, Alberta to Tijuana, Mexico the band has gained fans of all ages and cultures with their diverse sound and positive message. John Welsh & Los Valientes were recently nominated for a 2019 Fraser Valley Music Award and are currently working on their next album scheduled for release in Spring 2020.
